A visit from the bishop brings blessings to URI

On Tuesday, April 17, Bishop Thomas J. Tobin visited the Catholic Center at the University of Rhode Island for a special Mass and reception. During the liturgy, Bishop Tobin blessed eight stained glass windows that were obtained from a closed church in Philadelphia, restored and retrofitted for the Catholic Center Chapel. The project was made possible through the generosity of Frances Sordellini of Jamestown. Others donors and the organizers of the campaign, “Illumination for a New Generation,” were present for the Mass and reception, as were Msgr. Albert Kenney, Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia for the Diocese of Providence, Father Jared Costanza, pastor of Christ the King Parish, and Father Randy Chew, senior priest of the diocese and former chaplain at URI.
