Immaculate Heart of Mary, Pray for us

Posted

October 13, 2017 marks the 100th anniversary of the last apparition of Our Lady to Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta in Fatima, Portugal. The Blessed Mother had been preparing the children for a great miracle so that many would come to believe in her message of repentance and penance for the conversion and salvation of souls. Roughly, 70,000 people were in attendance that rainy day to bear witness to the great miracle of the dancing of the sun in the sky. Our Lady asked that the rosary would be prayed daily while reflecting on the mysteries of salvation and redemption.

The miracle of the Sun was witnessed by believers and non-believers alike. Even the local newspapers, some of whom were very anti-Catholic, ran articles about the events that took place that day. Many people fell to their knees, not to protest, but to pray for the intercession of Our Lady to save them from the approaching sun. When the miracle passed, the rains were gone and the people’s clothes were perfectly dry.

Here we are one hundred years later and the message of Our Lady of Fatima continues to resonate in the midst of moral decay, cultural collapse and doctrinal confusion inside the Church. Our Lady promised that dogma of the faith would always be preserved in Portugal and that her Immaculate Heart would triumph in the end. Sister Lucia said that the final battle would be over marriage and family. May we continue to consecrate ourselves to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and pray the rosary daily.
