Saint Philomena School students receive top awards at Rhode Island History Day

A record number of Saint Philomena School students received top awards at the Rhode Island History Day Awards Ceremony held on Monday, April 30. Many were selected to advance to National History Day in Washington, D.C. The follow students advanced to the National Competition: Junior Individual Documentary - First Place: Ashley Quintal and Katherine Deus. Junior Individual Website - First Place: Katherine Pajak. Junior Individual Performance - Second Place: Olivia Kapogiannis. Junior Group Performance - Second Place: Eleanor Jarvis, Ella Reid and James McCarron. Junior Group Performance - First Place: Sadie Polgar, Niamh Whelan and Regan Landers. The following students were honored with special awards at the Rhode Island History Day Awards Ceremony: Junior Group Documentary - Third Place: Franciszek Pajak. Junior Group Exhibit - Book Award: Liam Barry, Charlotte Logel and Elizabeth Healey. Junior Individual Paper - Runner up Maritime Award: Thomas O’Hara.
