Senators’ votes supporting abortion incomprehensible

Posted

TO THE EDITOR:

Recently, the United States Senate voted to not pass a prohibition of late term abortions known as the “Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.”

Both our Rhode Island senators disgraced our predominantly Catholic state by enabling this violent practice to continue. How sad and disturbing! It’s especially disturbing that Sen. Jack Reed, a professed Catholic, voted against the legislation. Imagine, Sen. Reed, with a distinguished, honorable military career, “caved in” with his Democratic cohorts by supporting unlimited access to abortion, including late term abortion, when the baby is viable, is simply incomprehensible and unjustifiable.

Sen. Reed, you can’t have it both ways. I’m ashamed to call you and Sen. Whitehouse my senators!
