St. Patrick’s Church to receive the National 2018 Loyola Press Opening Doors Parish Award 

PROVIDENCE — The Loyola Press Opening Doors Parish Award honors a parish community that demonstrates a spirit of belonging and engagement practices that facilitate the meaningful participation of people with disabilities in all aspects of the parish community and the life of the Catholic Church. Loyola Press in coordination with the NCPD and the Office of the Apostolate for Disabilities in Providence choose one parish from all dioceses in the United States. St Patrick was chosen for their commitment and hard work welcoming all to their beautiful faith community. Providing physical access to parishioners (elevators, ramps, dedicated areas in the church for seating), adapted catechesis, ASL liturgies every Sunday, Summer Bible Camp for People with Disabilities, livestream of Sunday Mass and much more. All are invited to come and congratulate St. Patrick community, June 22 at 4 p.m. Liturgy follow up with a reception.

Corpus Christi Eucharistic Procession
PROVIDENCE — St. Patrick Parish, 244 Smith St. invites the community for a Eucharistic procession through the Smith Hill neighborhood on Corpus Christi Sunday, June 23. The procession will leave the church immediately following the 9 a.m. Mass (approximately 10:15 a.m.) and will process throughout Smith Hill, with five stops for the praying of the rosary. The procession will then return to the church for Benediction at approximately noon. For further information, please contact the rectory at 401-421-7070.
Summer School at St. Pius V
PROVIDENCE — Faculty members from Providence College will speak on Tuesday nights at 7 p.m. in St. Pius V Church hall, 55 Elmhurst Ave., on the Church and various topics throughout the summer. The summer sessions include: June 25 - Dr. Sandra Keating: “The Church and Other Religions;” July 2 - Dr. Gary Culpepper: “The Church and Jesus;” July 9 - Dr. Robert Barry: “The Church and the Renewal of Moral Theology;” July 16 - Dr. Richard Barry IV: “The Church and Culture;” July 23 - Dr. Sharon Murphy: “The Church and the Knights of Columbus;” July 30 - Dr. James Keating: “The Church and Politics.”
Church of the Precious Blood to host Patronal Feast of Corpus Christi
WOONSOCKET — The Church of the Precious Blood, 94 Carrington Ave., will celebrate its patronal Feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi) on Sunday, June 23, beginning with the recitation of the rosary at 9 a.m., followed by Holy Mass at 9:30 a.m. celebrated by Father Michael Kelley, pastor. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and a procession inside the church will immediately follow the Holy Mass. A complimentary sacramental gift packet will be given to each attendee after the conclusion of this portion of the festivities. Mass and Prayers for Healing
MIDDLETOWN — Experience the healing touch of Jesus through soothing music that brings peace of mind and tranquility in everyday life. LaSalette missionary Father Andre Patenaude, M.S. communicates the Gospel message through his gift of music. On Wednesday, June 26, at 6:30 p.m., in Saint Lucy’s Church, 909 West Main Road, Father Pat will celebrate a Holy Mass. After Mass, he will offer prayers for healing. Holy Hour for World Day of Prayer for Priests
PAWTUCKET — Serra of Providence will sponsor a Holy Hour for World Day of Prayer for Priests on Friday, June 28, at St. John Baptist Church, 69 Quincy Ave. The evening will begin at 6 p.m. and include Adoration and a special rosary for priests. The mission of Serra Providence is to foster, affirm, and promote vocations to the priesthood and religious life in the Diocese of Providence through prayer, activities and events.
