National Alliance on Mental Illness Rhode Island support group offered at Holy Family Parish

PAWTUCKET — National Alliance on Mental Illness Rhode Island support group at Holy Family Parish will be offered the second Wednesday of every month, 6:30 p.m. at St. Joseph’s church hall, 195 Walcott St. This is a confidential and safe support group for adults living with Mental Illness.

Annual Pasta Dinner at Saint Francis of Assisi Parish

WAKEFIELD — Saint Francis of Assisi Parish will hold their annual pasta dinner on Friday, Oct. 12, from 5-7:30 p.m. in Father Greenan Center, which is located behind the church on High Street. Adult dinners are $10, take-out $7 (excludes beverage), children $5 and five and under free. Dinner tickets are to be purchased at the door. Featured this night will be an opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for themed baskets as well as the drawing of the annual raffle.

St. Joseph Church to host flea market

CUMBERLAND — Saint Joseph Church, 1303 Mendon Road, will hold an indoor flea market on Saturday, Oct. 13, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Refreshments will be available. NORTH KINGSTOWN — St. Francis de Sales Parish, 381 School St., will hold an annual indoor yard sale on Saturday, Oct. 13 and Sunday, Oct. 14 from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., rain or shine. Items include jewelry, housewares, toys, games, electronics, CD’s, furniture, books and baked goods. The kitchen will be open for refreshments.

Autumn Pilgrimage

PROVIDENCE — Magnificat, Our Lady of Divine Providence, will lead a Mystery Pilgrimage on Saturday, Oct. 13, to allow men and women to explore their faith and view God’s splendor on a bus journey that will depart at 9 a.m. and return at 4:30 p.m. Participants will enjoy artistic creations and encounter inspiring teachings and prayer along the way. Families encouraged to participate in St. Pius X annual Walk for Life

WESTERLY — St. Pius X Church will hold its annual Walk for Life on Sunday, Oct. 21. The three-mile walk will begin around noon at St. Pius Church and walkers will process through the town of Westerly, then to the Tomb of the Unborn at St. Sebastian’s Cemetery for a brief prayer service. The walk will end with a light reception at St. Pius Church. Sponsorship forms are available for walkers and all proceeds from the walk will benefit their local pro-life community ministries. The committee is encouraging more families and school children to participate. Saint Jude Triduum and Parish Mission

PROVIDENCE — Saint Agnes Church, 351 Branch Ave., will hold a Novena for three evenings in honor of Saint Jude on Sunday, Oct. 21, Monday, Oct. 22, and Tuesday, Oct. 23. Mass and Novena prayers will be offered at 6 p.m. The theme of the St. Jude Triduum/Mission is “Hope for the Hopeless.” We will have the veneration of the relic on Monday night. A reception and raffle drawing will follow Mass on the last evening of the St. Jude Triduum.

Youth, Identity, Same-Sex Attraction and the Church

PROVIDENCE — Avera Maria Santo will be at St. Patrick Church, Providence, on Thursday, October 25 at 7 p.m. to witness her personal experiences regarding “Youth, Identity, Same-Sex Attraction, and the Church.” This will be the final evening of a four part series hosted by St. Patrick Church. Avera Maria is a 21-year-old, vibrant and joyful, up and coming speaker, known for her love of the Catholic Church’s teachings on same-sex attraction. This evening is free. Holy Angels Parish to host Fall Pasta Dinner

BARRINGTON — Holy Angels Parish will host its annual fall pasta dinner on Thursday, Oct. 25, and all are welcome. Dinner, coffee and dessert will be served in the downstairs, elevator-accessible church hall from 4:30 – 7 p.m. Seating and take-out will be available.
